US forces have added a Trijicon RMR red dot sight to the battle-tested Trijicon ACOG scope to make it better for close-quarters fighting. Trijicon now offers a commercial version of this sight, the TA31F-RMR, which was modified from the battlefield. Bullet drop correction is possible with the ACOG range reticle up to 800 meters away without the need for manual adjustments. On top is a Trijicon RMR mounted with a 3.25 MOA dot. Two lights are used in the ACOG scope. Reticle illumination is achieved without the need for batteries by means of a mix of fiber optics and self-illuminating tritium. In low light, the reticle is illuminated by the tritium, while in daytime, the fiber optic self-adjusts the reticle brightness based on surrounding light levels.
